Our new Information Metrics - Basics
The Old Approach
The idea is: Compare the input and the detected images/data.
Problems:
> The input is not always known
> the results of different detectors are not comparable
Our New Approach
Each imaging/data detection is always harvesting of data within a certain
time period. Use this harvesting and compare intermediate output images/data
or sums with each other.
Since the input is always the same, differences describe the quality of the
detector and the information content of the resulting images without the need
to know the input image/data.
Using the same idea we also introduced a specific technique to work with
single images/data.
